Tuesday May 2nd (NO HIKE LEADERS DUE TO EVENT, BUT PLEASE MEET EACH OTHER )
Cliffrose Trail” – 1.5 mile loop trail. Great way to start the day and get the blood flowing! We can do 1 or 2 laps.
Level 1.5
Directions: From Cottonwood head towards Sedona. At the Cornville road light turn left onto Mingus extension and about .2 down park on right side in the cliffrose trail head area.

Tuesday May 9th
Robbers Roost” – On The side of a redrock butte is a cave with an amazing window rounded out by wind and time! Reputed to have been used by rustlers, robbers, and bootleggers! This is not a very long hike, maybe close to 2.5-3.0 miles but the reward is sweet.

Level 2.5

Directions: Folks this is a longer drive (17.5 miles) time to our location. So how about a car pool meet up area?

If you are coming from the cottonwood area: Head towards Sedona and then turn left on Bill Grey Road. We can meet at the church parking lot (I’ll have two cars we can fill). Drive Bill Grey road (which is also FR 761) all the way out (12.7 miles) till it connects with FR 525C, Then turn left onto 525C. Follow FR 525C for just about 3-3.7 miles turn right onto FR 9530(drive only a few yards and park off the road. If car pooling with us let’s leave church by 7:15AM. Plan on the drive being 35minutes from church

If coming from Sedona and don’t want to drive extra to meet up spot:

Head on 89A towards Cottonwood, then shortly after the waste treatment center turn right onto FR 525, follow for about 12.2 miles, then turn left onto FR 525C, follow out about 6.6 miles to FR 9530 and turn right. Drive up just a few yards and park off the road. Plan on a good 30-35 minutes from 525 to trail parking.

Tuesday May 16th
Baldwin Trail” –
Another great loop hike about 3 miles long, this hike provides wonderful views of Cathedral Rock. It will take us down towards red rock crossing to enjoy some sounds of the creek.
Level 2.5

Directions: From Cottonwood: Go through Cornville to beaver head flat road to village of Oak creek. Then turn left at the Verde Valley School Rd round about. Follow all the way out till road turns to dirt, then about a mile in look for trail head lot on the left.

Tuesday may 23rd
Sugar Loaf Loop (plus summit?) – Approximately 3.0 miles. This is such a pretty loop that goes around Sugar loaf hill. It has great views of Coffee Pot Rock and Soldier Pass canyon area! And if we are feeling spunky, let’s make it to the sugar loaf summit! This really is an easy walking trip with great views.
Level 2.5

Directions: From Cottonwood, get into Sedona and turn left on Coffee Pot Dr. Then a left on Sanborn Dr. Continue about .1 of a mile and turn right on little elf Dr. That Rd will naturally veer right on Buena Vista, you will see trail head parking lot on the left. NOTE: Red rock pass.

Tuesday May 30th
Red Tank Draw” – YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!!-Archeology time my friends! Red tank draw is home to some amazing Southern Sinagua Petroglyphs. NOTE: There is a short/steep section of the trail that we will all take our time on and help those that need it. Slow and steady on that part and believe me it’s worth it! We will take our time looking at all the petroglyphs, then we can walk up the boulder/rocky wash and see even more that are hidden away! 2ND NOTE: Bring walking stick(s) if you need it for extra balance in the wash.
Level 2.5

Directions: From Cottonwood, head to Cornville all the way to Beaver Head Flat Rd and turn left. At the end of Beaverhead Flat Rd turn Right onto HWY 179. Follow all the way out to I17 and continue under I17 to the stop sign and turn left onto dirt rd. Travel 1.2 miles to the fork and take fork to the right (there is a small red &white sign at fork). Then you will see where to park, the Rd widens up nice so you can park off to the side.
