April 2017 Skyliner Hike Schedule


NOTE: Meet at 0700 in Cottonwood Office Max parking lot, outer perimeter, for all Saturday hikes

April 1, Saturday Hike: Turkey Creek to House Mountain
Distance: 8.5 miles
Difficulty: elevation gain 800 feet, moderate to difficult
Description: Drive South on Cornville Rd, turn onto Beaver Head Flats then on Hwy 179 to VOC, turn onto Verde Valley School Rd for 4 miles, left on dirt road for .6 miles to trailhead.

April 5, Wednesday Walk: Woods Canyon trail
Distance: 2 miles estimated
Difficulty: easy
Description: begins at Red Rock Ranger Station (looking for wildflowers)

April 8, Saturday Hike: Boynton Canyon to Mushroom.
Distance: 6.4 miles.
Difficulty: elevation change 960 feet (800 of that in 1.3 mile climb-Difficult
Description: Drive to Sedona and take Dry Creek Rd to Enchantment Resort, park at lot on right ¼ mile before the resort entrance.

Distance: 6 to 7 miles
Difficulty: Moderately difficult 400’ elevation change
Description: Hike up Bear Wallow Canyon, out Mitten Ridge and loop on around to the west and back down Bear Wallow Canyon.

April 29, Saturday Hike: Carroll Canyon/Sketch Trail
Distance: 5 miles
Difficulty: Loop hike, ups equal to downs, moderate
Description: This will be a loop hike on various parts of a series of trails in the general vicinity of Carroll Canyon in Sedona. Part of the hike will be on the recently built Sketch Trail.
