Rock in Sedona

Difficulty: Maximum
elevation: 4869 feet; elevation gain: 785 feet.
Description: Start
at Sombart Lane parking lot and hike to Snoopy Rock, return to Marg's
Draw Trail, hike to Schnebly Hill Trailhead and return to the parking
lot at Sombart Lane

20: Lo Lo Mai Indian Ruins off
Page Springs Road
Distance: About
5 miles total
Difficulty: Moderate
(some climbing in a few spots; trail is indistinct)
Description: Drive
north on Hwy 89A, turn on Page Springs Road and park at the
intersection with Hidden Valley Road. Hike up the ridge
that runs parallel to Page Springs Road and follow along the crest
for about 2.3 miles.

27: Blodgett Basin Trail/loop
Distance: About
5 miles or 14 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
(climb 1700 feet) Some will hike the Blodgett Basin trail for about 5
miles and return. The other group will hike the entire loop of 14
miles.
Description: We
will drive east on Hwy 260 to Clear Creek, take FR 618 and FR 215 to
Bull Pen and park there.

And here I thought "I" was an avid hiker of the area. You all impress me and I am honored to have found this blog. Ellis, thank you deeply for recording what you have done. I have been hiking Sedona for 12 years now and have been doing exactly what your group does, but solo. I have since retired my desire to be a hiking guide in Sedona as the FS has gone in a different direction, but I will continue to hike everywhere and anywhere for the love of the land.
ReplyDeleteI recently hiked Lime Kiln without knowing the history...at least from the 525 side of the story. I have to hike the remainder to get that patch!
I'd love to keep track of your adventures so I will look every so often for updates of your adventures.
